Unconventional Lubrication TechnologyLubricating with the world's most slippery materialInterflon lubricants offer lubricity and protection well beyond the properties of most mineral and synthetic oil-based lubricants. They resist moisture, contaminants, high and low temperature and high pressure without losing its slippery property.
Unlike conventional petrochemical lubricants, Interflon products are fortified with specially insulated particles of the linear long chain molecule "polytetrafluoroethylene" (PTFE), brand named Teflon®. | Teflon® itself is considered the most slippery solid material in existence - nearly equal to the level of wet ice on wet ice. It is inert to virtually all chemicals and not wetted by - and does not absorb water. These are precisely the properties of an ideal lubricant. ![]() Roy. J. Plunkett accidentally invented Teflon® As a result, Interflon products form an ultra thin lubrication film with a unique structure of nested spheres that lubricate by rolling like miniature ball bearings. The spheres get trapped in the crevices of the surface to provide for a very smooth lubrication film with extremely effective and long lasting dynamic friction reduction. Thanks to its strong affinity for metallic surfaces, static friction - and thus torque at cold start up (stick-slip) - is virtually non existing. Is this really a suitable lubricant?
| Using conventional petrochemical lubricants seemed to be the right thing to do in the past. However, now there is overwhelming evidence - backed by thousands of case studies confirming that lubricants engineered with this technology reduce friction and wear significantly better whilst virtually diminishing galling, seizing and fretting of metal surfaces. ![]() Pioneering the use of Teflon® as a Lubricant |
