Chain Drives

How would you extend the charge life of a chain?

Does it frustrate you too how much money your business is spending year-on-year on the replacement of chains?

Chains often suffer unnecessarily short lives, whilst causing high power consumption and unscheduled engineering downtime for replacement. In most cases, however, the problem is not tensile, fatigue and wear or the quality of the chains. It's just the type of lubricant used for re lubrication.

Unnecessary Wear

Using conventional chain lubricants often results in unnecessary wear due to corrosion inside the pin and bushing area and dirt buildup on the outer surface. Extending chain life therefore requires in most cases just upgrading to a product that combines a penetrating dry-film lubricant with a protective coating.

Interflon; the choice of professionals for chain re-lubrication

With Interflon dry-film lubricants, you will extend the charge life of your chains whilst reducing maintenance and replacement costs at the same time. To achieve that, our lubricants penetrate even into the most inaccessible areas of the chain to cleanse, displace moisture and break down deposits. They leave behind a long lasting film with extreme pressure protection that lubricates and protects the rollers, pins and bushes whilst preventing the formation rust and other corrosives.

Prevent dirt buildup

The sprockets and outside of the chain are left nearly dry. This prevents the buildup of dirt, dust and other abrasives and protects the chain against moisture, particularly important in (food stuff) environments subject to (salt) and water wash-off. You no doubt now begin to see the benefits this technology could bring to you:

  • Saturates the inside for long lasting protection against wear
  • Seals the outer surface to protect against rust and corrosion
  • Less stretching, binding, and ultimate failure of chains
  • reduced power consumption
  • Strong resistance to (salt) water washout and spray-off
  • Excellent dry run characteristics

The type, size and usage of your chain determine the product you can best use for maintaining your chains. However, all your chains can be expected to last longer, for instance when re-lubricated with Interflon Lube EP or using Interflon Food Lube G when operated in a food safe environment.

Trial Upgrade to Interflon

Taking advantage of a trial upgrade to Interflon chain lubricants in your own plant is the best way to quickly understand why using traditional lubricants for your chains is simply not the way to go.
