Lime Removal From Boilers

Lime Removal From Boilers

Cleaning And Removal Of Residue

Interflon Clean Special

Initial Situation

The boiler, which has a capacity of 2,000 L, is filled with lime. This lime forms a 4-7 cm thick layer in the main reservoir, narrowing the passage of pipes through which hot water flows. Each year, a contractor is called specifically to clean the inside of the boiler. The contractor pours 200 L of anti-lime product and mixes it with water. Then, the boiler is left on for several hours. They then empty it and complete two rinsing procedures. Despite this, lime remains are still detected after the treatment, also, the products used do not meet NSF regulation and are not suitable for food settings.

Our Solution

Fill with 600 L of water and 40 L of Interflon Clean Special . Heat the assembly till a temperature of 60°C is reached, and let the solution take effect for at least 2 hours. Drain the assembly and refill the boiler with water. Let the water flow half an hour and drain again for the rinsing to take place.

It has been proved that no lime remains are left in the boiler. Interflon Clean Special dissolved the lime stones that were previously removed with a high pressure hose as well as the lime remains that had adhered to the walls. 40 L were used, instead of the 200 L that were used of the former product. The boiler operator estimates a performance level of 92%, which is exceptional for a 7-year old boiler.
